Gandhi (Thalapathy Vijay) is a hostage negotiator, field agent, and spy working for the Special Anti-Terrorist Squad (SATS). After years of service, he is called back for a critical mission that sets him on a dangerous collision course with his past.
The film’s director, Venkat Prabhu, establishes the feelings of his Vijay-starring GOAT Movie (The Greatest of All Time) from the outset: it’s a recovery mission for a covert team of agents led by Gandhi (Vijay) against the villain Rajiv Menon (Mohan).
Gandhi, who the title of the movie suggests, brings down the house with an action sequence laced with his unique style, but before taking the final shot at Rajiv, he is stopped by his friend due to the circumstances. This sequence, in a sense, is a synopsis of the entire plot, and such moments of brilliance from Venkat and his team stand out in this template film enhanced with flawless fan service.
